Germany's first People's Choice Award for Cloud Applications – 2011 CLOUD AWARD to be presented by IT-Profits 7.0 in collaboration with T-Systems Multimedia Solutions – applications can be submitted as of now at www.theCloudMatrix.org
In collaboration with T-Systems Multimedia Solutions IT-Profits 7.0 is awarding a prize for the most popular cloud application. The focus is on web-based software that is available as a service online (SaaS). This is a federal-wide competition in which anyone can participate and vote. The 2011 CLOUD AWARD is Germany’s first People's Choice Award for SaaS cloud services.
In 2011 “the cloud“ will continue to be a term that everyone recognizes, at least that is the opinion of leading research enterprises such as Gartner Inc. from the US. Cloud applications such as SaaS are increasing every day, and users can easily become confused in this rapidly expanding market. The 2011 CLOUD AWARD makes it easier to get started in this field and provides an overall picture of the best providers.
Submitting applications, registering and public voting for the 2011 CLOUD AWARD will all take place exclusively at http://www.theCloudMatrix.org. Award applicants must ensure their SaaS solutions meet criteria in the following seven categories: security, support, running time, range of functions, shareability, costs and ease of use. All internet users are allowed to vote, leave comments and pass on their recommendations via social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. On 11 May at the seventh IT-Profits, a number of brief motivational speeches will introduce the five most popular SaaS providers. The deadline for applications is 28 April 2011.
On 11 May the winners will be presented with the 2011 CLOUD AWARD at IT-Personalities 2011. The presentation is sponsored by IT-Profits 7.0 and T-Systems. IT-Personalities 2011 is an evening event taking place at IT-Profits, and some 200 leading figures from the IT sector and creative industries have been invited to attend.
TheCloudMatrix.org (www.thecloudmatrix.org) is a website provided by T-Systems Multimedia Solutions GmbH. Its aim is to make cloud computing transparent and judge cloud providers in a number of different business-related categories. 24 different criteria are used to assess software as a service (SaaS), platforms as a service (PaaS) and infrastructures as a service (IaaS). The results mean a constantly up-to-date cloud matrix, ensuring transparency and enabling users to find their way around the growing market for cloud solutions.
