High Speed Broadband-Eastern Europe leads the way in fibre deployment with frontrunner Lithuania at 22.6% household penetration
Date: Tue, 09/06/2011 - 18:08
Delivering High Speed Broadband will be held from 24th-27th October 2011 in Prague, Czech Republic
The number of FTTH subscribers in Europe has increased by 22% thanks to a booming broadband market in Eastern Europe. As such, Telecoms and Cable Operators are increasingly exploring options for delivering high speed broadband that can cost-effectively meet the growing demand for bandwidth hungry applications.
Richard Jones, Partner at telecoms consultancy Ventura Team, believes that the best deployment examples are in Eastern Europe, who are by far leading the way. In an exclusive podcast with Telecoms IQ Richard said, "if you want to look at the ultra-fast deployments, Eastern Europe’s doing it, even to the extent that in parts of Hungary you find three fibre operators with fibre to the home, essentially competing in the same area."
At Delivering High Speed Broadband in October (www.deliveringhighspeedbroadband.com) Richard will give a presentation detailing real world fibre business cases and the lessons learned from building some of the fastest and most efficient fibre operations Eastern Europe and the rest of the world.
The full podcast with Richard on how to determine the business case for delivering high speed broadband solutions while keeping the costs down can be downloaded at www.deliveringhighspeedbroadband.com/Event.aspx?id=505102
Delivering High Speed Broadband will bring together experts in the FTTx market from Eastern Europe and beyond to hear operator case studies and discover the deployment strategies being used to keep up with the ever increasing demand for high speed broadband.
Roland Montagne, Director of Telecoms Business Unit, Idate, said Delivering High Speed Broadband will provide "An excellent opportunity to exchange experiences with a lot of FTTx case studies presented."
Delivering High Speed Broadband will showcase thought leaders in the field, including:
