Trade Fair for Cable, Broadband and Satellite from 26 to 28 May in Cologne (Germany)
ANGA Cable, Europe’s leading Trade Fair for Cable, Broadband and Satellite, breaks last year’s booking record. 373 exhibitors from 33 countries will showcase in 2009 (previous year: 369). This year’s ANGA Cable will take place from 26 to 28 May in Cologne (Germany).
With panels focusing on the analogue switch off, digital platforms and the Triple Play strategies of cable and fibre operators, the accompanying congress with a total of 20 trade panels is even more up-to-date than ever.
The highlight of the English congress programme will be the international Broadband Summit on the second day of the event. Under the headline „Cable versus Wireless: Next Generation Competitors?“ CEOs and CTOs from five countries will discuss the effects of new wireless networks (such as LTE and Wimax) on the broadband competition in Europe: Svein Erik Davidsen (Canal Digital Norway), Nick Fielibert (Cisco), Thomas Hintze (UPC Austria), David Keeley (Motorola), Martin Kull (Com Hem Sweden), Philippe Le May (Numericable France), Parm Sandhu (Unitymedia Germany) and Wim Sweldens (Alcatel-Lucent). The Summit will be presented by Julian Clover (Broadband TV News).
The Strategy Summit – as the congress’ kick-off – will again be the floor for the top representatives of German network operators and content providers. With Thomas Braun (President ANGA Association of German Cable Operators) as the host of the event and Dr. Adrian von Hammerstein (CEO Kabel Deutschland), Parm Sandhu (CEO Unitymedia), Markus Schmid (CEO Tele Columbus), Harald Rösch (CEO Kabel Baden-Württemberg), Werner Hanf (CEO NetCologne), Ferdinand Kayser (President and CEO SES ASTRA), Pro¬f. Dr. Carl-Eugen Eberle (General Counsel ZDF) and Dr. Marcus Englert (Board Member ProSiebenSat.1), there will be a first-class panel discussion on the future of broadband and Triple Play in Germany.
ANGA’s Managing Director Peter Charissé: “We are very proud that we could increase the number of exhibitors once more. The exhibition hall in Cologne will be fully booked again. Top-class speakers from cable operators, content providers, DSL providers and manufacturers are equally presented in the congress programme. With a focus on the analogue switch off, competition effects of wireless broadband offers, the convergence of cable and DSL operators, IPTV and CI Plus our programme is more fascinating and up-to-date than ever.”
