Physical and digital security under one roof at CeBIT 2013
Date: Mon, 01/21/2013 - 20:32
New: Future Security Park
From 5 to 9 March, CeBIT will be back with an expanded “Security World” showcase. For the first time, the showcase will feature exhibits of physical access control systems for computer centers, public authorities and industrial plants right alongside digital security systems. Visitors to the new Future Security Park in Hall 12 will be able to see all the latest security access card technologies, video surveillance systems, biometric and mechanical access control systems, floor pressure sensors and fire protection solutions. The exhibits will be arranged along a central walkway that gives visitors a systematic overview of all the individual display categories. Interested visitors will also have the opportunity to put individual exhibits through their paces and get expert advice on solutions that meet their specific needs.
Deutsche Messe’s decision to consolidate exhibits of digital and physical security systems under one roof at CeBIT reflects the growing importance and increasing complexity of corporate security solutions. “In today’s age of cloud solutions, BYOD and Social Business, it’s absolutely critical that companies take a holistic view of their security arrangements. System outages in vulnerable IT infrastructures, telecommunications networks, plant and buildings can quickly lead to the total collapse of a company’s operations. The CeBIT fair represents a unique opportunity for professionals with a security mandate to gather comprehensive information and advice about the best solutions for their specific needs and budgets. They can find out about all the latest security products and services from leading security technology companies worldwide,” explained Frank Pörschmann, Deutsche Messe’s Senior Vice President in charge of CeBIT.
