Exalt Communications, the leading innovator of next generation wireless backhaul systems, announced that Sparkplug, a leading wireless broadband service provider, has selected Exalt to supply microwave radio systems to support the high speed backhaul requirements of Sparkplug's carrier-grade broadband wireless access network.
Sparkplug offers business-class broadband services across six states, including Illinois, Arizona, Iowa, Tennessee, Nevada, and New Mexico. The company has deployed an advanced fixed wireless access network that leverages, among other technologies, carrier-class microwave backhaul systems from Exalt. By utilizing Exalt's microwave solution, Sparkplug is able to deliver fast, reliable and secure business broadband, high-speed business Internet and transport services that are affordable and easy to install. Sparkplug's services offer dedicated and symmetrical bandwidth up to 1 Gbps at a fraction of the cost of wireline solutions for enterprise, carrier, government, and education customers.
"Exalt's solutions enable us to ensure high quality service to our customer base, and flexible deployment of capacity on demand via software to meet our growing bandwidth requirements," said Michael Ruley, CEO of Sparkplug.
Exalt offers a broad portfolio of licensed and license-exempt microwave radios in all popular bands covering the range 2 - 40 GHz. The product family now includes Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and the highest capacity 5 GHz radio in the world. The radios feature guaranteed throughput, software upgradeable capacity, low latency and native TDM and native Ethernet support. Exalt radio systems are available in three configurations: all-indoor, all-outdoor, and split-mount, enabling customers such as Sparkplug to choose the configuration that best meets the needs of any given site.
"Sparkplug has a highly demanding customer base of both enterprises and carriers. Their selection of Exalt validates our strategy of bringing carrier-class performance and reliability to all frequency bands, including license-exempt," said Amir Zoufonoun, president and CEO of Exalt. "Sparkplug joins a growing list of Exalt customers deploying both license-exempt and licensed wireless backhaul systems that lead the market in capacity, flexibility and guaranteed performance."
